    ... to the top of the damn and then piled onto a freight elevator down near the base of the dam to view one of the 9 (?) gate controls. Before going down the guide gave people the option to leave and 2 people went back to the Visitors Center. We also went out on a lower platform on the down river side of the dam. It was very interesting and nice and cool inside the dam on a hot day. After the tour we looked at the exhibits in the Visitor Center and left at 3:40. ...

    ...continuing where I left off puts us at our little cabin at Letchworth State Park. The cabin I reserved was basically a cabin with a small fridge and stove.To fold up cots were off to the side and there was a small table. Not bad when you are used to a tent.
