    ... savings of not having to stay at a motel or eating out in restaurants it's not so bad. Jan has a new "scrubby-thing" on a stick that she's going to use on the windshield. It just drank a quarter of a big bottle of Dawn. Can't wait to see if it actually works because we wiped out a large percentage of the flying insects between North Carolina and here today. So far she has soap all over the ground and herself. Not sure if the windshield is deriving any benefit. Will keep you ...

    ... The car was there (via NJ) and cleaned and ready to go. Someone comes and sits with you and goes over all the features in the car, instruments and how to work or change. Now if I remember. All I wanted to know how to work was the Bluetooth and hooking up phone to use my music.

    ... I had finally made it to the unofficial halfway point. I treated myself to a night in a hostel and some pizza. On the AT the trail only goes through about 5 miles of West Virginia, so I made it into Maryland in no time.
