Thanksgiving it's Dallas!

... memories are of his puppets and their cool house. I have always loved puppets and John's influence early in my life has always been evident. Eventually they left LA and moved back to Dallas, where they're from.
I spent Thanksgivings with them, some of their friends, and their other two daughters. Talk about feeling thankful. It was wonderful to spent time with Patty and ...

Dallas, TX stop

... my tongue to try to stay awake. Dinner was at a local sushi joint that had great rolls. We spent the rest of the weekend watching several episodes of Dexter while Tommy upgraded my computer for this trip. Tyler was acting crazy as usual just running around. The next stop will be in Wichita to see the family and eats lots of Thanksgiving goodies.

Ready to Travel!

Packing for a one-month trip overseas in generally one climate came quite easy after having to utilize the same packing gear for a trip 6x as long and with many varied climates earlier this year. With my 70-liter pack and a daypack fully loaded, and with two suitcases full of food, clothing and the like requested by my friends at ACA in India in tow, I was ready to head off to Bangalore via London!

Shawn and Megan's Big Day

Went to our friends Shawn and Megan's wedding last week in Dallas.

It was a fun and beautiful event. We had a blast getting to hangout for the weekend and felt blessed to be a part of the celebration.

Went to a place called Top Golf that puts microchips in the balls so they can track it for you and keep your stats. Made for ...

More planning?

... just fall into our lap. Our, better yet, that we'd meet some world-class scuba instructor on the plane ride over. And he will invite us to his amazing boat where he will whisk us to uncharted waters Jacques Cousteau-style and personally guide us to our own, less scary and sci fi-ish version of Lost...

... Dallas I guess. We had been to used to just going to one giant shop that sold everything. Only too late we found out that where we were staying had mostly Mexican stores (I asked 3 staff in the supermarket and not one of them knew what Coleslaw was, let alone if they sold it.) and it was a Dry County. No booze :( Luckily Fortworth (Dallas' sister city) had the cheapest, biggest and possibly best tasting American beer we tasted. Stuff we did: Went to a ...

... stayed to finish work, and I took my Dad's car to Brooke's house. We headed to a delicious cafe called French Meadow and then to the Walker Art Center (WAC). The exhibits were ok, but way to dominated by a rather negative exhibition by Robert Prince. We stepped outside and had much more fun looking at the Cherry in the Spoon and the giant glass carp of the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden (MSG). After a brief visit to Jason's shop (he is a high-end wood ...

AA sucks

American Airlines nearly ruins my trip....my original flight which was supposed to leave at 10:10am never leaves the ground....at 11:45am...AA has another flight bound for Tokyo and because I have carry-on luggage only, I'm allowed to board the flight and make it to Tokyo with 40 minutes to change planes and airlines ( Japan Air, they rock!!) . American Airlines...never again you *******s.

No turning back now!

... deal, considering long term parking at the airport was going to run us close to $150. We celebrated the 4th of July with the small town of Bedford, Texas, just 15 minutes from our hotel. The Garmin got us to the parking/shuttle lot, and for $3 per person we were shuttled to a huge party at a city park/water park/community center where there was No parking. The kids played in the inflatables and even did the rock climbing ...
