Merci, bonsoir.

In the afternoon, we saw MJ This it movie and Amelia at a Tulsa theater, both are good movies Stopped to see my friend I hadn't seen in 35 years. He was my boss when I took a job for 6 months surveying for the Army Core of Engineers in Hugo, OK. It was cutting brush lines so we could place monuments with elevations on them. Once the Dam was completed , by using our monuments the would be able to calculate water volume. We used boats, bow and arrow, a old jeep to do our ...
Amarillo, Texas, United States rogersusieqThe rain that started at the completion of our jeep tour on Tuesday continued to fall and the temperatures got downright cold! Undeterred, we spent a couple of days taking in some of the other Amarillo 'attractions'. Fortunately these were all museums so we were able to stay out of the cold.
The rally winds down tomorrow and we will 'hot foot' it down to Tucson for a Monaco Coach owners get ...
... been really good about getting up in the morning and getting moving but the need for sleep caught up with me. We did manage to pickup 4 geocaches between rest areas and Cadillac ranch. We got to Cadillac Ranch just as the cold front was moving through the area and lightening was starting to be visible in the distance. So it was a short stop and then off for supper ...
Amarillo, Texas, United States kayaker902... short distance from our campground. The Ranch is open 24/7 and visitors are encouraged to add their grafitti to the 'art'. Surprisingly, the Ranch gets up to 1500 car loads of visitors a day - included in this number was Ken & I today! Enjoy the pictures....
Amarillo, Texas, United States thesairs... the campground we are staying at has a 3 day special, pay for two and get the third free. It came to $13.33 a night. Thats a nice cement pad, wide spaces with 50 amp. Plus, if you call now, oh wait thats a TV commercial. They allow you to wash the coach (that means Ken with a little help) and the whole thing includes free laundry. The Spa is just an added bonus.
Amarillo, Texas, United States thesairsWe left home this morning at 8:45. We waited until later to leave so that we wouldn't hit the morning traffic through Fort Worth. The weather is sunny and hot. Temperature showed 104 at the highest. We stopped for lunch at a roadside picnic area and fixed a sandwich in the 5th wheel. We stopped just before Quannah on Hwy 287. We arrived at Dalhart around ...
Dalhart, Texas, United States schroederdWe had hoped to make it a bit further - however, the Yukon had a leaky tire that needed to get fixed and cost us about 2 hours dealing with that. It turned out to be a good thing! We missed a severe storm with hail and heavy winds near Tucumcari, NM - which was our original destination for the night!
Dalhart, Texas, United States peteanddebAfter finally getting underway around noon, we headed west across north Texas and into the upper panhandle. Stopped for quick picnic just south of Wichita Falls. Then headed west. Our observations - lots of cows, and corn, and wheat fields and more cows. It was fun hearing the boys complain about the smell as we passed one of many big cattle pens across the area. Dinner was in Amarillo ...
