    ... in Childress. We had salads and chicken fried steak (me) and brisket and baked potato (Dad). The food was excellent and the check, including tax and tip, was $26. We couldn't find anything on TV so we watched Mad Men on our portable DVD player.Yes, it was a pretty boring day, as the first day always is. But that's the price you pay for a motor trip and we both love them!

    Yup we're back at the Cotton Gin RV park. It makes a nice place to stay for the night. Today was the most comfortable travel through Texas we've ever had at this time of year.     ... absolutely brand spanking new, smooth-as-glass blacktop, wide with 2 lanes in each direction – and a speed limit of 35 MPH! Really??!? No, I did not get a ticket…but only thanks to my cruise control.
