It's Christmas Day and my present to myself is to be climbing into my car and head'n down the rod to Washington DC - the weather service suggests generally good weather for DC and I have always wanted to go to the Smithsonian, so, as I was so close (400 miles / 600 km) it seemed like a good idea!

But before I do head on down the road - I'd like to say how lucky I was to find Mike at 'MS Precision Automotive' who's workshop is just down the road from the dealership where ...

On to Cleveland to collect a car

A travel blog entry by stephenshortt on Dec 17, 2014

... We pretty much had our pick of tent sites at the KOA and Anthony found a beauty on the edge of a marsh in front of Sandusky Bay. We didn't have much luck building a fire for lack of kindling, but we were too tired to care. After setting up camp, we quickly made some sandwiches and put some food and beer in our bellies and hit the rack about 9:00PM. ...

... Steakhouse in the evening (lovely sirloin and got a bit of a result as they stuffed up our starter and we ended up getting one of the steak dishes free) and were back in time for the bedtime story at 8pm. The bedtime story followed the same routine but instead of Brindley Bear we got Oliver Raccoon and we waited patiently for the not to be missed photo opportunity. By the end of our stay here I think we embraced the madness.
