      I have no idea what time we got up but if I remember rightly it was earlier than necessary considering we'd got to bed around 4am. I’d imagined I’d be much worse off considering it’s the first time I’ve binge drank in a good few weeks but I was ok, Charlotte less so.

      ... did all that time go? Both of us are so excited about his future with Leila, and very much looking forward to the festivities. His Dad and spouse CA are arriving in San Fran on bikes from Vancouver, travelling the same route in reverse that we did in spring 2013.       ... Toronto Blue Jays, (Oakland won), there was fireworks after the game was over. We also went to the Lawrence Hall of Science museum in Berkley, which has a fantastic view of San Francisco Bay. We all had a great time and there were even more fossils local fossils from Mount Diablo

      ... good. with many interesting stories of the inmates and the great attempts at escapes. There was also time for exploring the other parts of the island - the early days as a fort, Indian protest camp etc. The unexpected part was the lovely gardens started during the days of the commandants residency in the early 20th century when the islad was a fort.
