We continued driving through Nebraska. At Grand Island, we headed south into Kansas. Just before the Kansas state line, we stopped in Red Cloud to see Willa Cather's childhood home. Kansas involved another two-lane road with very few towns or traffic. We were going to stop in Kansas City, but went on to Cameron instead.

... Fortunately the River Road on this side had been turned into a four lane divided highway to I made short work of the 180 miles to get there. My trusty GPS got me to the dealership without any problems and everything is in order for me to get my bike fixed. I am staying approx 2 miles away from the dealer in not a very rich area. Since my trip is nearing the end, I decided to live large and get a microwave dinner at the WalMart next to the motel, WooHoo!

We arrived at Wallace State park and paid for two nights. Tomorrow we head west on the 36 to the 29 north, which will carry us into the Dakota's.

Not much else to report, except for a problem with the storage compartment under the RV. The locking mechanism works on a cam type design and is prone to malfunction. I have taken these apart in the past and tightened things up and good ...

We began the day with another chance to fly. Dad has a Stearman biplane--open cockpit. He keeps it at the Excelsior Springs airport, so we ran up there. Both Kevin and I got a ride, and boy was it neat. Riley and Lewyn took turns driving the old Farmall Cub tractor that Tim and I used to mow with when we were teenagers. They had a great time tooling around the airport on it. ...
