... from CT and James was the third from NJ.

A few hours after lunch we finally started to see the Rocky Mountains off in the distance and the prairies gave way to more rugged land. We arrived in Denver around 5:15, by far the earliest we’d succeeded in stopping for the night.

We spent a lot of time "nursing it" and coasted down a 2 mile hill which probably saved us. Once we got to the gas station we messed around for about 2 minutes because dad didn't know if the guy at the pump was leaving or not. We are back on the road now and have about 30 minutes until we get to the hotel.
