Exploring Colorado Springs

A travel blog entry by tiger96nz on Sep 09, 2014

Another bit of a lazy start this morning :) (slowly getting into the time difference) had breakfast then headed out with Rob up through Cheyenne Canyon ... We stopped off to see if there were any hummingbirds at the starsmere centre, sadly they were having the day off or had flown south for the winter ... We did however see the Google car taking photos for Google Earth. A ...

I took me 2 hours to escape CO Springs. I didn't have a solid plan, other than to start making my way east and then north to get on highway 36. With some prodding from my parents, I changed route... A few flats but otherwise great conversation and we had our first sighting of the Rockies looming in the distance. We made a stop at a small coffee shop on the way and still got in pretty early. We walked around the small ...

I got home from church, changed into some jeans and drove to pick up Jim. At his home he lent me a tripod and then we were off. A short 30 ...

We stayed up late on Friday doing some home improvement projects for Joan, so slept in on Saturday morn. Got on the road around 11:00. Weather was nice but very windy.High temp was 85, and cooled as we drove north to San Antonio. Met Susan and Fred Meyer for dinner right off of I-10. We had a great visit talking of old times in West Virginia. Headed north through the hill country of Texas. Quite beautiful ...
