... 1.50 each, a couple of interesting pasta dinners (along the lines of Hamburger Helper), breakfast cereals, and a few other things that are not available at home. Heidi also does some grocery shopping and we also get two bottles of wine with the intention of drinking one tonight. As we are still unsure about supper, Heidi gets inspired and purchases a roasted chicken, a loaf of freshly baked bread and both potato and macaroni salad for our dining ...

... the river. Since there is not a lot here as far as history, they have to base a lot of the city around the river and natural activities. I thought it was really interesting that they made a few devices in the center of the river that created waves for people to surf on. The people doing it seemed to have a lot of fun. It was nothing like a cloud 9 or rolling wave, but some people also used a boogey ...

... This plane [photo below] had minimal overhead bins, so anything bigger than a bookpack was tagged at the door and set aside as luggage. Well, all right, but when we landed at Chicago, there was a downpour. A large group of us had to wait in the rain on the tarmac until a trailer of luggage was driven out. Everyone scrambled to grab their stuff & get to cover, stepping over puddles!
