Got up at 0830 am, showered, dressed & down for breakfast. Headed off to Lynchburg & the Jack Daniel Distillery tour. Free tour was Great! & tour guide Jason was very good (retired firefighter) We walked into town after & had lunch at the a Iron Kettle restaurant. We went to the general store & bought some souvenirs. In another shop I found some sanuk sandals on sale so bought that & some Whiskey fudge. ...

... The next thing we knew, a clunker truck pulled up beside us with a muffler vibrating so loudly that it was shaking the baby house. ... it up as a tourist site. On the premises, they have added a distiller, restaurant, lodge, and a gift store.

Galen and I took a day trip to downtown Nashville to visit places like Tootsie's, Ryman Auditorium, Musicians Hall of Fame, ate some great BBQ and walked our shoes off!!! We then went to the Opryland Hotel and took off to the mall for some very good Mexican Food before heading to the Grand Ole Opry to see country stars like Carrie Underwood and Trace Atkins.

On top of that, we had purchased plane tickets for August 14th, because we needed to get to France in time for staff training before the DTS (Discipleship Training School) started (September 5th). Also, because the visa is placed inside your passport, we had to leave our passports at the French consulate. Aaaannd the consulate takes around 21 days just to process the visa application. ... that it sometimes makes me do stupid things, like tonight. I am like a moth drawn to a flame, with similar consequences.

I have no desire to wear wet clothing the next day so I turn in early and set my alarm for 0700 so I can have 4 hours prior to departure to dry everything.
