... many views to take in and so many different birds. We were surprised to see Lyre birds a couple of times and stopped to watch their display each time, fabulous with tail feathers similar to peacocks.
Today we played golf at Katoomba. Although it was a pleasant day, not too hot, the golf and the course were absolutely forgettable! The course is undergoing extensive redevelopment and a brand new club house just built – all of this left us ...
... and Sheila certainly enjoyed the entertainment!!
We then drove back along the escarpment to the campsite for a late lunch as the mist rolled back in. As it eased very late afternoon Angela and Sheila went for a walk through the bush to the Cascades-it’s great to be out in the fresh air! BBQ was on the menu for dinner again and then we went to the Three Sisters to see them floodlit- unfortunately the mist rolled back in at the same time so it was quite an eerie sight!!

In between I planned the walk to Mt Solitary fort he next day. I was just too curious about where that English boy got lost the other week. Hahaha. At the tourist center they actually tried to convince me not to do it when I bought the maps because the Australian Outback is so extremely dangerous. Hope non of them Australian ...

Echo Point is the most famous lookout of the Blue Mountains. The view on the Three Sisters and the whole valley is amazing. The Three Sisters are three big rocks worshipped by the Aborigines. The story says that 3 sisters were in love with three brothers from the neighbouring village. Unfortunately, they were not allowed to marry them because of tribal laws. The ...
... the Inca Trail, which I did once and LOVED so much that I almost bought a cheap Spirit Airlines ticket to Peru when my coworker Jenny Sullivan got back from her trip because her pictures made me so badly want do it again), but that you are also constantly "missing," if you will, the fun times you just had... Man, NZ was fun. Which reminds me...the obligatory Milford Sound shot is not on the blog yet...so it's here. But ...
Katoomba, New South Wales, Australia jimmyandkristen... guard me from the sun. The path is soggy but i splash through it in my sturdy crocs, getting filthy and wet feet along the way. I stop at many lookout points along the way, most test my fear of large heights but I force myself to walk up to the barriers and look down, its a view you dont want to miss. Its still early, about 9.30 so I enjoy having the track to myself and being able to just listen to my surroundings uninterrupted. The walk is about 6km in total, not a massive trek but a ...

The fireworks in Sydney really were as great as they say. Instead of just throwing one or two up at a time and waiting in between, like most places at home do on 4th of July, they just threw everything up at once. The sky was lit up like it was daylight. The smell of burning was strong in the air, and the resulting haze was very thick. Not only ...

Excellent weather, over 27 degrees and sunny which was good. We then drove to Blackheath and Govett's leap for lunch before heading home along the scenic route.
