      July 21, 2014. Truck - 65,791; Trip - 5,781

      After a final parade of the Talkeetna shops, we bade Greg a goodbye and took off in the early afternoon for Palmer, Alaska and points south. The Milepost book recommended a side highway called Hatcher Pass.

      Huge rounded hills covered in what looked like many shades of green velvet, deep but soft, so soft, green gorges and gulches with cold white water filling their channels...channels ...

      ... had to back track 3 times (I know it doesn't sound funny but you had to be there). We eventually found Eddie after going round the circuit again as we hadn't driven in quite the right place & the parking attendant had the power to stop us reversing a few feet & used that power!!
