      The weather was fine & frequently warm with only a very light spitting of rain at one point (thank goodness the rain of last night was nowhere to be seen, it would have been most unpleasant) so I stripped down to my shorts & singlet.

      ... amp; Wisconsin. They arrived in May 1935 by train & ship & were initially housed in tents. Each family drew lots for 40-acre plots of land & so began their lives of farming but the failure rate was high, although many of their descendants still live in the area. Apparently Palmer is more or less a closed town as they will not agree to let any big businesses such as Walmart, set up shop. Also those who haven’t been in the town since 1935 are not totally ...
