A barrel of Laughs...
Renee's highlight for Toronto is today, the funny thing is we got up early to walk down to Dundas sq (the Times Square of Toronto) to get on our tour bus over to Niagara. We were there early so we mulled around in front of the Hard Rock cafe (we've seen so many, but have not been to one of them internationaly). The rest of the tour showed up and mulled with us, then our bus driver came and then the trip over to Niagra started.

Awesome Niagara
... to the Falls. The sheer volume of the water as it thundered down was awesome – the Niagara River runs at 28 miles an hour. In 1901, as a publicity stunt, a schoolteacher in her sixties named Annie Edson Taylor was the first person to plummet over the Horseshoe Falls in a wooden barrel padded inside with a mattress. She survived but some of the 15 others who tried, did not. Now it is against the law.

Overnight with a view
I must admit I didn't spend much time in Buffalo, as it was just a place where we spent the night during our weekend at the Niagara Falls. The Hotel was great anyway: probably one of the best beds I've ever slept in! It's not in the town centre (closer to Lake Erie) but from the windows, I got a great view of the town. Great value for your money!

The falls are truely amazing to see and the steam boat is worth it, if only to get wet and truely appreciate the force of the water and rapids. I am also very glad to be visiting form the Canadian side, the views of both falls are fair superior than what the Americans must be getting. (They look at the falls side ways on.)

The Giant Flush
Niagara Falls:
Oversleeping the alarm we all rush up at 8:15am to frantically get ready to catch our Megabus to Niagara Falls. At around 8:30am we went downstairs to enjoy our relatively healthy complimentary breakfast of fruit, yoghurt, bagels, muffins, scrolls, cereal and juices and coffee.
