      ... There info boards all over with stats on volumes of water over the falls, erosion studies on rocks etc, but Google it if you are interested.

      ... and we waited and we waited.

      While waiting in the airport terminal, we were all shocked at the new reports on the TV about the blizzard Hercules and how people had already died and then they declared a state of emergency!!! My god, we really thought what we were experiencing was pretty normal in winter in NYC and that's when I realised what we did earlier trying to get to the pick up point was maybe a bit crazy - but we were ok and everyone waiting ...

      ... dump our bags and venture out. Stopping for a bite to eat. We were recommended to check out "Dad’s diner….it’s like a diner" we had a good laugh at the description the lovely Irishman at the desk had given us. Enjoying about a half hour walk we went to use our adventure passes heading south following the Niagara River until we reached the falls. Who needs a map when you have the river?

      ... us closer but only just managing to stay stationary to give us a full soaking.
      As we got to the closest point I look up to take in the full height and force of this waterfall through squinting eyes and screwed up face. All this framed by my blue plastic hood tied tight to avoid the wet dog look that was to follow.
      The picture perfect falls were finished with blasts of sunshine through the black and threatening clouds ...
