DAY 78
For our first and only day in St Louis we did a few different things, all of which we enjoyed; and in the end we concluded St Louis is quite an interesting and vibrant city. I would recommend it to a friend.

... And reasons to stay. Our beautiful neck of the woods. Our pups (can't imagine leaving them or subjecting them to the travel). Health of family members. The things that josh enjoys so much here. Friends (though they can come visit).

So maybe for now it's just planning another trip there soon to scout.

Our final waypoint before St. Louis was near Pacific and Eureka Missouri. We visited the Black Madonna Shrine. Its formal name is Our Lady of Czestochowa but due to discoloration of the icon by candles everyone just calls it the Black Madonna. The shrine is the handiwork of one priest who came from Poland in the 1920's. The shrine consists of 6 or 7 different grottos all built by hand using cement and rocks from ...

It was getting time for me to take-off so I said my final goodbyes to Mr. Peterson, his father-in-law and the guys at the airport. I knew this was going to be an interesting flight considering all the precipitation that I was about to encounter.
