Then to the River Walk along the Savannah, sorting River Boats and ferries. It seemed that every other business was an eatery.

Tomorrow we have about a 5 hr drive to Oxford , Alabama. We'll see what we'll see then.

2 days in Savannah
... to have a pretty healthy population of locals with great access to the Atlantic Ocean. Several nice restaurants a pier with shopping etc. They have their own lighthouse which has a museum to tour. It was a good day despite the rain and cool temperatures.
I know we missed so many things in Savannah but for only have a few days to spend there we did our best to see what we could see. It was worth the stop!

24 hour trip to Tybee Island & Savannah Georgia
Daughter insisted we needed a trip before summer vacation was over. And she's right of course. :) We decided to head to the beach...which is 5 hours away at best. We are all accustomed to living 20 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico...so this takes some getting used to. But we NEEDED the beach, not a lake front bit... a BEACH. So we decided Friday afternoon to drive south to Tybee Island...Friday afternoon.
We hemmed and hawed ...
