    ... DUUH!!!! Talked to a fellow camper in Memphis and he said yeh if you don't overdo your lights and such your furnace should run for a day or so on the battery. So it looks like we didn't have to freeze after all. Lesson learned.

    Two hours into our trip...and BANG...a rock hits our windshield! This is my first windshield crack in 10+ years in my faithful car (affectionately named "Justin"....don't laugh).     ... not putting up road signs. In some places it was almost impossible to tell if we were driving on hwy 60 or some mother country road. We had to backtrack at least twice when we got lost. We don't realize how spoiled we are in good old Washington. I hope the rest of the eastern US isn't this way. Early tomorrow morning we'll do another walk and then get back on the road east.
