... almost no traffic either way. With the current astern and not a breath of wind, we finally made the turn-out at G 177. There wasn't enough daylight left to get to Wrightsville Beach (read marinas) so we opted for overnighting at the Carolina Beach State Park Marina. ... many gracious people on this trip & got to know them personally.
We will have a nice breakfast out and take advantage of this classy place tomorrow Am. Drew is holding up but hope to have Dr. apt. in line tomorrow am.
Had planned Backgammon tonight but ol' Eagle eyes' is asleep, so will get my book out.

The next morning we drove into Wilmington. I had read that downtown Wilmington had a pretty nice atmosphere and we were not disappointed. We walked around Front Street and the Pier and enjoyed North Carolina for the first time since we had entered it. I don't want to completely knock down NC and I think we just missed some of the really good stuff. Asheville and the Appalachian part of NC is supposed to be beautiful and worth a stop.
