    ... were told they were used to stop the snow drifts getting onto the roadway during winter. Of course I really knew that.

    We crossed the border into Montana. This State is known as Big Sky Country and you can see why. Open fields stretch before you and I don't know if it was my imagination or not but the sky seemed to be the dominant feature of the picture that was appearing before us. Magnificent.

    ... of us had dined there before. It was fun, you pick out your fresh meats, veggies, and noodles and put them in a couple bowls, then the chefs cook them in front of you. Lots of sauces to choose from. Great meal and all you could eat!

    ... in Missoula and served as the wrestling coach.

    Julie and Rainer returned for visits to Missoula in 2008 for Rainer to received a distinguished alumnus award and in 2009 to attend Brian Sharkey's wedding. Brian was Rainer's master's thesis adviser and one of our first authors at Human Kinetics. His books have sold hundreds of thousands of copies for us.

    We had dinner this evening with Brian and his wife Ann.

    We have discovered that our perfect driving day is about 4 hours long. We may make one quick pit stop along the way but it just seems to be a distance in which everyone stays happy in the truck without grumpiness, tears, or screaming. Aimee can usually keep it together!
