The bus ride back was the same story, road works cutting the road down to one lane, and the same old traffic jam and horns blasting.
Tomorrow we are visiting Chengdu's Giant Panda breeding research base before catching a flight in the evening to Lijiang in the Yunnan province.
Looking forward to getting down into the warmer country side - less city's and less honking horns.

A Real Big Buddha
Unlike our first dorm roommate, who was as quiet as possible, we had a dude in our dorm who was probably the worst snorer I have ever heard. It sounded like two or three people were in the bed, or a dying animal….and with a poor night's sleep we collected our things and set about heading to a town 2 hours south of Chengdu to see the Giant Buddha in Leshan.

Grosser Buddah, grosses Gedränge.
Punkt 6 Uhr klopfte mich Ping stürmisch aus dem Schlaf. Sie war beschämt, wie ich nur in Shirt und Boxershorts, völlig verpennt, die Tür öffnete. Früh machten wir uns also auf, um den grössten Buddah der Welt zu sehen. Mit dem Bus blochten wir nach Leshan, kriminelleste Fahrweise. Ich hatte echt Schiss.
