... was really no other means to Mutianyu in winter. We spent 4 hours climbing from station 14 (took cable car which was a wise choice conserving energy for the climb up the best part of the wall) to station 23 (beyond is officially closed to tourists). ... lovely bus ride and I was able to see the shops buildings.

The commentary on this bus was both in Mandarin and English. I made new friends in the Novotel hotel who were with a Swedish tour and they were surprised that I took public bus in a big city like Beijing.

I was very exhausted and soaked my feet in the hot bath but it was another fantastic day in this lovely city.
