... it was still a little gloomy. We munched on muffins and fruit and had bad hotel coffee while we waited for the rain to stop. The weather was calling for rain on/off all day but I never trust the weather predictions in Florida as it doesn’t mean much. The place was packed (Labour Day week-end) but what surprised us was the large number of South American ...

... I got home I was about to update my resume, when Wikus, our new SA housemate sent me a message on Facebook, telling me that the one boat Apogee needs dayworkers. Jo, Chelsea and I immediately got into a taxi and went to the shipyard. After a bit of a walk, we found the boat and got to work. My first proper day of daywork... This consisted of only polishing the galley... It took four of us 5 hours and we still haven't completed it. It is a ...

... 8217;t like the people in Miami, for the simple fact that I held the door open for a guy and he didn’t say thank you. Hell, he didn’t even look back at me. And that was the fourth time it had happened since we’d been here. And that’s terrible.

We greedily stuffed our faces with food back at the hostel before retiring to our room to watch the incredibly long but tear-inducingly good movie, Warrior, and eventually heading to ...
