The queue basically carried on for mile after mile, and the thermometer in the car read 124 degrees Fahrenheit, which Brit later told me is about 52 degrees centigrade.
I thought it was pretty hot.
We passed one shunt involving about 6 cars, but nothing major, but it was so boring toodling along at a snail's pace that after a while we turned off and headed inland. Anything to get out of the queue!

... were sold out for the day, which kinda sucked, as I booked a room in San Luis Obispo, which was a 45 min drive away, thinking (hoping) we'd do the tour before continuing. But that was not to be, so we booked a tour for 9:45 the next morning so we would have to get up and go.
