It has a laundry at the reception. Pretty cool. Pack light and send to the laundry daily.

... either. Needless to say (and hate to admit it) we had to complain. I think they were a bit surprised but after a couple of hours they moved us to a better chalet. Well at least one not set directly behind the main road in. Now Phil and I have stayed in some pretty poor places in our travels (admittedly prior to munchkin) so we don't need a lot of comfort but even Phil wasn't going to accept that room. ... again we had not had anything to eat since breakfast and were still trying to stick to the 'eat local food’ rule, we decided to have lunch here. I had Dumpling Mee (noodles, chicken, dumplings and bok choi), while mum had a stir fried noodle with prawns and egg. Both meals were excellent and we both wished we had space for more.

... women bathing in the sea fully clothed and with headscarves on - they must be melting! Had lunch in a beach shack - a dozen chicken satay for £2!! It costs very little here to eat really well. After lunch we decided to walk back to the bus along the beach but we had to rush down to the sea and paddle along as the sand was so hot. Beautiful place - and we were on the main island, there are lots of quieter ones to stay on. You can see why it is a popular honeymoon ...

... because it was meant to be quieter than the other two (Samui and Phangan). Initially we were a bit disappointed, as it seemed under a frenzy of development. In just twenty years it has gone from a barren island to somewhere where every road is lined with cafes, laundry shops and more famously; dive schools. There are 60 dive schools on an island 15sq km in size (or something like that).

The net effect of this is that diving courses come very cheap in Koh Tao. ...
