... for your gift of this opportunity.

These thoughts of gratitude for all of those above (as well as the support of friends including, but not limited to, Melanie, Heidi, Michelle, Melissa, Amy and more!) rushed to the surface of my consciousness when I read Jessica's note this morning. Her thoughtfulness showed me how a simple token of support and love, plus the acknowledgement of ...

... stopping by the American Pickers headquarters in LeClaire, IA. Trying to get past Des Moines today.

5:47PM CDT update: We had a good ride today. We crossed our first time zone so we gained an hour of daylight. We hit a wicked T-storm south of Chicago and needed a new pair of wipers- thanks Walmart. Found $3.29/gal gas, which was pretty good. The Subaru's getting a consistent 24 mph, which is better than ...

Preparations

Bob and I are preparing for our two month adventure in Spain. We are attempting to hike 10k every morning and have now added another 10k in the afternoon. Along with the hikes, we have added our backpacks. The question now we are asking each other often, "Why are we doing this?" It seems silly to work this hard in retirement. The Camino is referred to as 'The road of Reflection', so maybe we will figure this ...
