... Lodge on Historical Rte 66. Seligman is the town that inspired the Pixar animation movie "Cars 1". We are hoping to see the town during daylight this trip. But arrived 6pm, when the sun went down. Tomorrow we'll be meeting our hiking/camping guide Dan 7am and head for Havasu Fall. By the time we're back, it'll be Tuesday evening, then we'll be off to the next town. Well, we'll have to use our imagination then!

When we arrived at Seligman, we checked-in at the hotel. We were greeted by a friendly host, and he had a lot of information on the area. Our room was decorated with pictures of the 50's and the beds are very warm.

We got to see the bird show whilst we were there, where all sorts of hawks and owl flew around, sometimes very close to your head (one touched my and Mikayla's hair) and did some tricks. We learnt a lot about these endangered animals and it was a great show. They had a Raven by the entrance to the show who when given a dollar bill would stuff it in ...

... was no way I could take the trail down to the river as that is over 8 miles long! I retraced my steps and took a trail east towards the Yavapai Lodge watch which follows a journey through geologic time. At various intervals along the trail that are examples of the rock found at each level of the canyon representing a history up to 2 billion years ago. Once at Yavapai Lodge it was possible to see the Colorado river itself at the bottom of the canyon, and ...
