    White knuckle ride from Carmel to Del Mar. The day started well - roads good then sat nav took us away up into the mountains where the views were stunning but the descents were for drivers with nerves of steel. That would be me then!     My parents and Shaunette went their separate ways from us as we wanted to head to the ocean and they wanted to go to a casino east of San Diego. After driving 1,500 miles to San Diego from Texas we were too close to the Pacific to say I didn't get to see the ocean, even though we never intended to set foot in it.

    ... and lots of seals. They were so cool! I face-timed with Avery while at the beach so she could see the ocean - if it's possible, I think she likes the beach and ocean as much as I do! Then it was Coldstone Creamery for dinner! YIKES!!
    Tomorrow we will have lunch with a cousin of Dave's and then we are off to the desert and Yuma. No more ocean!?!?! ...
