... our last night. We tried another honky tonk just to be sure we got the full experience but found ourselves back at Layla's...and sure enough we got drunk again there on drinks bought for us by Americans who wanted to talk to us; but this time we made a dash for a ride home just after 11 before the ice hockey finished. In our tipsy state we packed our bags ready for our greyhound bus to memphis in the morning. Pretty sad to be leaving Nashville that's for ...

... the idea. It has been a lot of work, but now that we have a few minutes and step back an realize what is about to happen, we couldn’t be more excited.

Let me take a few minutes to talk about the “Workaway” site/program/whatever that we are using to help us extend our travel and not blow all our money on cheese (see above list). ( was discovered pretty early in our planning process and ...

We had a fantastic stay in Conway with the Wiltgens. We arrived after a long day on the road on Wednesday evening. It was difficult to find Toad Suck Park -- our campground, but we found it and set up camp. Then Jim and his friend John from Gettysburg met us at the park and we headed to Jim and Susanne's place in Conway. We had a wonderful meal and conversation and the time flew by. We got back to the campground with tired children around midnight. Yesterday Jim took the day off ...

... I have to admit is one of the reasons I wanted to stay in Nashville. I was having severe withdrawals from shopping at TJs. Stocked up on several things for Sheri and I and headed out.

All in all, the driving was uneventul, not a lot to see. It was a good drive except for when I was driving south from Nashville - had quite a bit of wind as I was driving through the mountains, but I continued to make good time.

On my way to The South!!!
