    Another day of skiing!

A travel blog entry by matt-hryniewicz on Mar 01, 2015

Went skiing with the Reidy's and their cousins. Jay Peak is definitely a must on a skiers list. Some sweet glade skiing for novices. Packed powder. 25 degrees. Barely a breeze. A couple of quads and a tram bought you to the top. Sitting on the Canadian border in northern Vermont, it's quite remote making for small lift lines. It was a four hour ride but the ride back was a bit more interesting with the impending ...

We checked out of Mountain View Grand this morning. What a mess trying to get the luggage to the car. The hotel is big and has one elevator which has an operator so you have to call for it to come from your room. We did not do that the first time and took some stuff down. Mom does not travel light. ... to "bag" at some later date.

The Trapp Family Lodge is on hill near Stowe. I always loved the Sound of Music movie, would watch it every year when it aired around Thanksgiving when I was growing yup, and knew it was vaguely based on a true story. I didn’t realize until recently how true it was, and that the Von Trapps came to the U.S. with just a few dollars, toured the country as a family singing troupe in the ...

Burlington - Biggest Town in the Quaintest State

... like I did the town justice, though, and it’s a place I’ll have to go back to visit again.

I consider Burlington to likely be one of the best places to live in America, a small city with generally open-minded attitudes, a university town as home to University of Vermont with a well-educated population and amenities like the arts that go along with it. ...
