... Lake Gunn. This is our first DOC site. DOC sites are characterised by excellent secluded locations with basic amenities, just the type we prefer. However next day we again end up taking time to get started. We are still not used to the time cycles of this part of the world. So we end up taking the cruise in the afternoon. Milford Sound must be one of the most beautiful places on earth. A deep calm lake like river flowing towards the ocean surrounded by high rise snow ...

... and its just a little closer to the sun than the Northern hemisphere, so the sun actually is more intense. It's second only to Australia. Water You can drink water right out of any tap, without chemicals or filtration, because it is filtered through the gravel and sand laid down by glaciers. It has that mossy taste of pure water. It used to be the cleanest tap water of any city in the world (guess that's changing, as things do). Everyone gets weirdly excited ...

So we arrived very jolly (if not a little jaded) at Auckland around 8am, and had a 5hour layover for our connection to Christchurch. Time passed and we were at last into the final stages of the flight (and the nasal waste of the man beside me, probably being recycled in the air through the fuselage...). ... shops and many restaurants serving Asian cuisine. I wasn't in the mood for Asian food tonight, but I finally found a seafood place called The Palazzo. I ordered the seafood marinara. It was pretty good, but the marinara sauce was quite thin and the service was quite poor. When I returned to the hotel, I did some laundry for a little while and then I went to bed early. Tomorrow I am flying over to Queenstown to take a scenic flight over Milford Sound.

... folle mais vraiment le fun !!! Curieusement nous navons pas eu si peur que ca... cetait tellement bien organise et securitaire !!!
