    ... turtle.....but my phone has been dead for a while - so no photo of him. The climb up to the shelter was made easier by the lack of full sun. We ate dinner there, then kept on down the trail. At the water source, about 2 miles down hill, StarGazer realized she left her shirts at the shelter. Her leg is busted up, so I ran back up and retrieved it.     Gail cooked a wonderful Sunday morning breakfast and we enjoyed a leisurely meal with much conversation. Jan and I headed back to Raleigh mid-morning. One really nice thing about main North Carolina highways is that they are mostly bordered by trees and bushes so you rarely see houses and other buildings.
