Finally we got onto I-84E and within 5-miles entered New York, the 9th state of our road trip. Middletown was just 20 minutes inside the New York border and we happily ended our 5-hour day of driving when we pulled into the Hampton Inn at 2:30 p.m.

We spent the first night in Cuddebackville, NY at the Deerpark KOA.
