... we saw a RadioShack so thought that this was as good a time as any to grab a cell phone for family to stay in touch, help us in locating things and having maps to help us navigate the cities we are visiting. After that we walked a couple blocks and jumped back on the bus and headed out of the rain to our warm apartment for some refuge from the rainy day. We managed a quick skype with Mum and Dad, before tacos and drinks for dinner. No idea what tomorrow has in store, stay ...

... probably Seattle's most famous attraction. Whilst the weather was nice, we just sat by it and took a few photo's - the plan is to go up it tomorrow, as the weather seems okay. As for now though, Anna's managed to sneak in a little nap while I've been writing, but she's supposed to be getting ready for tea! Gonna head out in a few minutes and try a Korean restaurant down the road; we'll let you all know how it was in our next post.

... Skamokawa Creek as I would not get lost in the slough channels. (Having never been here before) The grocery store may be able to assist in setting up a shuttle, leaving your boat at the put in and your car at the takeout if you do want to paddle all the way there one way and not have to paddle back. Mind the wind and waves.

5th January - Sunday

A lovely blue sky, quite cool but no rain in Seattle this morning, apparently it rains a lot here so we are very lucky on our only day in town that it is a nice one. First thing today was a walk to the Pike Place Markets, they started as a farmers market and have grown.

We head to Seattle on the Victoria Clipper, a high speed catamaran which travels at 35 miles @ hour which is pretty fast. Probably 300 plus passengers. It took us 2 and 1/2 hours to cross Puget Sound to reach Seattle. Smooth ride. We were throwing big spray. We also saw very big ocean cargo ships heavily loaded with containers.
