    ... Detroit. There was so much construction we couldn't really get to the arch or back on the freeway...needless to say, been there done that, don't need to do it again. Pulled into Sikeston at 5pm. That's 730 miles road time. We got to meet the old smoky man who ran the campground and played harmonica with his singing dog.     ... the other side of the road. Seriously? We hoped it was just a coincidence, but realized it wasn’t. I’ll just leave it at that. The laundromat was housed in a storefront attached to a house and when we walked in, it looked like we were entering someone’s basement.     ... fall is rapidly passing here. Many of the the leaves have already fallen and the colors have lost their vibrance. But, I love what remains. To me, it is still vibrant. I love the may shapes and contrasts with the evergreen backgrounds, set off by the emerald green farmlands and dotted with varied-color irrigation ponds and ribbons of muddy rivers and streams.
