When I did a search on Food Network's "On The Road" App for places to eat on our trip, The Rock Cafe in Stroud stood out because it listed some German dishes I knew we'd enjoy :)

I made my way back to Route 66 from Grove rejoining just east of Afton which is a rather rundown town with few businesses left open. Rundown and abandoned was a bit of a theme for the morning as I drove through a number of towns that have suffered at the hands of the interstate bypass. After passing the abandoned bridge east of Vinita and passing under I-44 there was a 70 mile stretch with no sight or sound of the turnpike. To the east of Chelsea there was another ...

Left home about 5:45. Flight from OKC at 9:15. Arrived O'Hare 11:15. The international terminal is a totally different building so we had to go out of security, ride a tram to the international terminal and go back through security so that took awhile. Everything else was smooth. Talked to a girl while waiting at the gate who lives in Dublin and had been visiting ...
