As we are cycling across the USA and thought we would be camping most of the time, we are finding motels to be cheaper or just as cheap as camping. So tonight we choose Days Inn and the room is clean, and from desk person very helpful.....Thanks

... slept in late after getting up at 4:30 am to view the lunar eclipse. It was almost total while we watched from the comfort of Jan and Ron's TV room windows and later from our bed. This was the best viewing ever. After breakfast we all piled into the car for 40 mile drive south of Conifer for a hike in the Lost Creek area, specifically to Harmonica Arch. We had about a 15 miles of dirt roads, through wildfire-scared landscape. Unlike the Northwest, recovery here takes much ...

... into the take out line? Only the Shadow knows I guess!

Going inside was a whole new cultural experience also. The place was packed and had LONG lines waiting to place orders. There were no seats available when we got in line but as soon as I saw a couple of stools next to one of the windows free up, I sat down and guarded them with my life! We both enjoyed our hamburgers but I think I got the biggest charge out of all the hoopla. Hopefully we will ...

... They had it in stock and tomorrow is a Utah holiday so we needed to get it today.
We found a place to camp that was cheap with our Passport America card. It was a a Mobilehome park/RV place. Pluses - inexpensive, water, sewer, power and very nice pool. minuses- no trees, dead grass, and no toilets or showers after 9:00 at night when the pool closes. Also, the shower is along the side of the pool in the open so you shower out in the open with ...

We made it and got daddy on a plane headed home. He will fly back out to visit us in 2 weeks. Lots of tears from the girls saying goodbye since we are all tired and road weary. Tim put us up in a really nice Marriott though and girls soon bounced back to the fun of our journey! We ...

... we weren't prepared for what we were to see that is Capitol Reef. To quote from the booklet, a giant buckle in the earths crust stretches across central Utah, created 65 million years ago by the same great forces uplifting the Colorado Plateau. It's magnificence is hard to describe so is best seen in the photos we took. We went to the visitor centre, then drove further along the road between these huge formations, finally stopping at a place where there ...
