      What am I forgetting?

A travel blog entry by cherubtowaffles on Nov 25, 2014

Packing... one of my least favorite things. There is, inevitably, this utterly horrible feeling of forgetting something. You know you have, you always do, and you know it is going to be the most important thing. In the end, you must resign yourself to it and tell yourself "just relax, you'll figure it out". Of course, the moment you'll figure it out will be in plane seat thousands of feet in ...

11 days and it's on like donkey kong

So, you know it's getting real when you start having nightmares about it.

I woke up in the wee hours of this morning with the most god awful camp in my right calf. My first, sensible reaction was, of course, to assume that I'd been shot. The pain was worse than childbirth (or so I can only conclude).

It's just a well, I don't know anything about the place we're talking about seeing and no idea how long it takes to get between them.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that this trip is ...

      42

A travel blog entry by cherubtowaffles on Oct 18, 2014

What is 42? The answer to life, the universe, and everything obviously, but it is also the number of days until I leave to go see kangaroos, the Sydney opera house, poisonous everything, and a pretty amazing person who I seem to have become fond of over the course of approximately 10 years.

This will be, I believe, my second time out of the country but my first time off the continent.

Oh, and to whomever is reading this, in case you ...

      Oklahoma City, OK

... around Bricktown, a trendy shopping district with a water canal similar to San Antonio, and to visit the Okla City Memorial that commemorates the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah building in 1995. We're hoping to see that at night as it appears they light the individual chairs that represent each person killed that day and it looks very powerful. We found Bricktown this evening and it was terrific. Lots of live music and a good ice cream shop. The canal, ...
