Fayetteville was frustrating to me this morning. I had a list of four places to go. Two were no longer where the Internet and guidebook said they were, one had no parking -- the Clinton House where they lived when they taught at the University. The one I did see was the Confederate Cemetery where I parked in a no-parking area. Streets and highways in Arkansas often have two to five names or numbers but the maps usually just identify one, so I drove around and around. I did ...
... 40 minutes off I-40 near Morrilton, AR. I heard about this park on an RV blog, and changed our reservations from the delightfully named Toad Suck State Park to Petit Jean. The drive in takes you through some of the prettiest countryside we have seen on the drive so far, and the last 6 miles has enough steep climbs and hairpin turns to challenge any driver. We are at the table about to have dinner at the lodge they have here. We both ordered burgers and cannot wait. Our campsite is nice and with it being the middle ...
... is feeling better but now its my turn to not feel so great. We have a quiet morning, then in the afternoon once I'm feeling better we go for a bike ride through the park. Its the first time the bikes have been off the bake for a ride since we started the trip. It felt great to be on them. While we are cleaning up from dinner Gordon looks up to see the sky changing color so off we run to the lake side to watch the sunset.
