... watching the Oilers ice hockey game, and it only took 30 seconds before the first couple of people pointed and laughed, thankfully Kristina was quickly on hand to explain all.
It was good to hang out with the guys again, and after many beers we sloped off to bed, waking late with sore heads the next day. That Friday we staggered around Lethbridge with Adam, and it was at an A&W burger bar that I was broken, the ...
By pure luck Adam & Laura, who we met back in Quebec City & Montreal, saw that we were staying in Medicine Hat on my Facebook profile and invited us to come stay with them in nearby Lethbridge. Unfortunately we were booked into hostels in Banff for 5 nights so could only stop over on our way there. The 1 night we were there was Thanksgiving in Canada, and we were once again taken in so warmly by an entire family.

... of weeks, thanks to pain killers, I slept. Last week I started to visit the field with the supper delivery and towards the end of the week, Don and I figured out a way to get me up and down the ladder on the combine so that I had a couple of hours each evening riding with him. Don has been leaving here about 7:15 in the morning and returning between 1 and 2am most days so we don't see much of each ...

You really get a sense of the vastness of the prairie when in those fields. The combines try to stay together out there as, once separated from the others it is ...

... There seems to be a constant wind in this area and the proliferation of wind turbines makes ideal use of the higher hills to produce clean green electricity. Pincher Creek was one of there earliest areas to produce oil in Alberta and it seems fiting that this area should now be able to produce abundant amounts of renewable energy. A beautiful drive, even at this time of the year. One can only image what it would be like with fall colors.
Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada alexiapep...
Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada alexiapep... what? after today we're rather glad we didn't. Today, we felt privileged to be able to share the Chinook Association Rodeo that took place this afternoon in Lethbridge. This was rodeo for real, not that Calgary isn't, but this was guys, girls and kids competing just like they do all season all over the country. No fancy stalls or stands selling stuff, no fairground rides, no fancy prices, hot dogs and burgers in the interval ...
