The rough guide describes Bandera as having the look and feel of an old Western movie set and is named the cowboy capital of Texas and in true Texas state of mind tradition; we didn't rock up in Bandera unprepared. The must do things in Bandera are 1) stay on a dude ranch, 2) drink beer and dance in one of the many saloons, 3) Learn to two step. I'm happy to report we managed all three.
