... we could get close to ...in fact we walked through some and, as already mentioned, we drove through one tree trunk!The first part of the road home was about 30 miles of sharp bends and hairpins with a speed limit of 10-25mph which the cars in front kept too. Nevertheless the views continued to be stunning. We drove past rivers, a reservoir and large orange groves and on into the sunset! A bloody good day. They do have a lot of scenery here and everything is bigger in America.

We woke up to 34 degrees outside, 49 degrees inside. It was forecast to reach a balmy 42 degrees later on with possible snow showers…it was time to get moving, see what we wanted to see and get off the mountain by mid-afternoon! We pulled out of our campsite at 8:30 into a beautiful, albeit quite cool morning.
