I can't say enough how excited I am to be able to participate in something like this, my family and friends have been so supportive and I couldn't begin to think of doing something like this without that! Especially my husband John who has been so supportive and appropriately concerned throughout all of the preparations- I hope he doesn't give my side of the bed to the dog permanently!

Definitely time to end this trip. A few highlights of the last two days:
Mid-morning yesterday, one of the tires on the camper blew out. Despite the 80 mph, the only casualty was the tire, shredded to pieces. In the freezing wind Victor changed it and we limped into the Stratton, CO. An hour later, we again headed out.

We continued driving through Nebraska. At Grand Island, we headed south into Kansas. Just before the Kansas state line, we stopped in Red Cloud to see Willa Cather's childhood home.
