The girls had a hearty Embassy breakfast before we packed the car and drove to the Rice campus. On the way we found my old apartment building on Westheimer, Avalon Square. The whole area has been built up with high ride condo building and high end shops and restaurants, and a Whole Foods just a few blocks away now. We left hot humid New Orleans to begin our trip up the Mississippi, and after collecting another car, we drove via Baton Rouge to this quaint parish as they call it St. Francisville.
