... Went down to a waterfall too, nice to see bits of everything. I spent most of the afternoon in the hairdressers getting my hair turned back to red, had such a fun time chatting to the girls who work there and the customers and they did a pretty good job on my hair too.

Nicky, the girl who did my hair was fantastic, I loved her to bits, I tried to convince her to call in sick and run off to New ...

Came back and made a proper American sandwich with 3 layers of meat and 4 layers of cheese. All this took most of the day so we spent the evening watching DVD’s (Battlestar Galactica) and chilling out.
Elmira, New York, United States amyusa09... there ready to meet me complete with a sign with my name which was pretty funny (I had joked he should do it). We set off for a couple of hours drive back to Scott’s new place in Elmira, missed the turn-off because we were so busy chattering but made it there eventually. Stopped off to pick up some real loose-left tea on the way, good plan. Had pizza, shower then a big sleep.
Elmira, New York, United States amyusa09Just a short note, for work I travelled to Elmira Ny in Oct 2009. It was a fun week, Elmira is a small city on the Southern Tier of NY.

It is quite a pleasant drive from Toronto to Elmira. From Toronto down to Niagara and across the Lewiston Bridge. There is often a lne up, but Monday morning when I got there, there was nary a car on the bridge. Customs looked bored and passed me through. From there down through Buffalo and ...

Corning, New York, United States marvs66trip... Since I am going in the winter I am certainly not opposed to comfy warm couch invites for the night. As of now I have no idea when I am going to be anywhere. It depends on how cold it is and how much of the things I want to see are already closed for the winter. The other important part of this trip is to stop and check out good places to eat along the way ...
Corning, New York, United States marvs66trip... 10% the cost of my RTW trip. Like tithing that feels about right. However I do want to be clear, mostly to myself, that offsetting is in no way a positive solution for our environmental problems. Nor is it a way to psychologically sooth any trauma I might incur from realizing what harm the emissions I cause create. It is merely a way to limit some of the destruction and to practice awareness of responsibility for my actions.
Burdett, New York, United States sonicbridges... on the way. We arrived in Bath, NY, a good 30 minutes before anyone else. We took a walk and made it back to the car as thunder was heard. We got to sit through a hail storm and watch the hail bounce off the car windshield. After it stopped, there was nothing we could do, as all the tents etc were in the van. Once everyone arrived, we pitched tents. I ...
