Today was supposed to be a rain day so we planned things that didn't require good weather. As it turned out it was a beautiful day - probably over 19 degrees!! We started out at the Folk Center - many great pieces from local artisans including quilting, pottery, paintings, woodworking, jewellery no more. Then we drove to the Builtmore Estate - home of the Vanderbuilts. We didn't actually see it ... A very ...

We left this morning around 8:50 - travelling to Ashville today. It was a lovely drive through the mountains. More colour in the trees than what we saw in the park. 15 degrees today!! We wanted to go to the top of the highest point in the eastern states ( Mt. Mitchell 6647ft high). Upon ...

We found our way to the shuttle and then to the rental car center and then navigated to our company. The woman behind the desk was smiley and unrushed and as she got the paperwork ready, I told her that this trip was a gift for my mom's birthday and that we were excited to see the balloon festival. We chatted pleasantly as she got things ready. Then she smiled and leaned ...

... and house! I love being out in the countryside! Completely in my element here. Had a yummy, healthy dinner! Collected four eggs from the chicken coop! And now, about to go to sleep... So tired!!! Flying really makes you exhausted! Looking forward to my next 6 full days here in the city of Asheville! And it always makes it better when you have good company! It's so lovely being around such inspirational and kind hearted people - it's really icing on the top of your holiday and ...
