We drove 210 miles in 4 hours.
We were still reeling from the weekend and the news from Jade that she had decided to pull out of her planned trip to meet us.....2 days prior to the departure date.
So our spirits were not particularly high when we rolled into town. Atlantic City is another one of those towns that is far more famous than it should be. It has definitely passed its prime, though looking at it ...
... to Atlantic City, but I was really not impressed with what was there. The tourist area was minimal and there were no souvenir shops as far down as I walked. The only thing available to me was a shopping mall along the beach where most of the stores had closed so it looked minimal. There were also restaurants and Casinos, but really, I had no desire to waste a fortune trying to score big.
... and swam for as long as they could take it. Thursday night was tacos at our place and then Win, Lose or Draw after the kids were asleep.
Friday morning the sun was out and we headed to the beach. We had a great setup and an awesome day at the beach! Of course we're all wiped out now but ready to do it again tomorrow!
Yesterday was only a 3 hr drive which was so easy after it long ones! We stopped twice to kill some time, once at the Purple Penguin roadside food stand for Russ to get a Philly cheesesteak and second time for beer. The Purple Penguin had an awesome old school metal playground ...
Today was an exciting day! We began by driving to Brick Town, New Jersey where Tommy was born and lived until his family moved to South Carolina when he was two. The home on Kettle Creek Drive was built by his father and grandfather right on the waterway. We stopped at the home and Tommy asked the owner if we could walk out back to look at the dock and boats.
