    ... temp was 99! It's now 101 as I write this and the wind is blowing across this crazy odd landscape at high speed. Dinner, I think, will consist of leftovers.....it's too darn hot to cook! Oh, and as a bonus, Walmart is right around the corner to restock all those necessities!  Tomorrow we'll head toward Albuquerque....Go west young ...

    Hey, y'all,

    I'm talkin' hot, hot, hot here in Vernon, Texas. A cool 101 degrees but thankfully a good breeze.

    We had a great breakfast with Brenda, Stan, and Brenda's Aunt and Uncle at Denny's this morning. Then packed up the coaches and got on the road around 10:30.

    ... to our first rodeo, and paraded into the world's largest Honky Tonk venue where we learned that we can't really dance. Next, we headed to Fortworth's bigger brother; Dallas.
