Yesterday we met Miss Janet at a trail head, as usual she bailed us out of a situation, this time by giving us a ride, and also hooking us up with a buddy of hers - he gave us a ride to an outfitters ...
... for a few minutes, we hiked on. The scenery become more vibrant and colorful. The photo I took, with all the trees uprooted.........,that area looked like it was a scene from Jurassic Park. That whole section had that effect to it. Night soon came, and we found a small camp area.....a freaking ton of bugs have surrounded us. We are trapped in the tent. ...til morning, when the cold will put them to sleep just long enough for us to make a run for it. .....and there is a creaking ...
... to get the folks involved that can put a workable solution in place. I also set up a local standing lab order for the blood work I will regularly need for my DF doctors. The assistants at the DHMC 3 L lab were terrific and helped tremendously with that.
I’ve learned that I have to be willing to advocate for myself, even when doing so adds stress. It’s a good thing I practice yoga. Thank you Jill and "Hanuman" too.
... are miles and miles ahead of dangerously slippery boulders and windy ridge lines . But they are "true" hikers so we continue. The way up is getting really hard, the rain doesn't stop and on a few boulders we are starting to slip ... And it's getting more and more vertical. I'll have to admit that I started to doubt our arrival for dinner (it's served at 6 sharp!), but I kept pushing on and thinking of food :)
