    The Blue Ridge Parkway runs for 469 miles from Tennessee in the south up to Northern Virginia. It's highest point 6047 feet, soon after the highway commences. It is designed with numerous scenic overlooks and access all the way to the towns and cities along the way. The mountain range is full of tracks, waterfalls and camping grounds.     ... the barmaid explained this was a typical Monday in Roanoke. That evening we visited a place with an interesting name 'Awful Arthur's', it was a seafood restaurant and sold things such as Seafood Jambalaya, crab claws, oysters etc. Debbie had seafood risotto whilst I tried the Jambalaya, both were very good.     ... but they weren't open until 10:00am; glad I didn't, as this is really a walking city.

  • Outdoor concerts & street performers everywhere.
  • Took in a movie at an old, restored movie theatre to end the night. Saw "Skeleton Twins" - loved this movie - well done, powerful, emotional.
