Stayed in a 6 bedroom "cabin" in Blue Ridge Mountains close to Bedford, VA and Peaks of Otter.
As Jeanne said "The good times just keep getting better. And, Karen, thanks for coordinating everything with the house. As much as we *****ed about it, it really hit all the high points--plenty of rooms and bathrooms, a nice dining space, great views, and a hot tub and company that goes unmatched."

By the time we reached the park, the rain had stopped, but the clouds had moved in and the whole area was blanketed in fog. ... easier since I was avoiding the freeways. The day was sunny although there was still a strong wind. (Is it always windy I wonder?) One stretch was a divided highway, 2 lanes on either side with practically no traffic. The boulevard in between was grassy and dotted with trees dressed in glorious colours of oranges and yellows, looking like great big bouquets of tightly bunched fall chrysanthemums.
