We stopped at the huge US Air Force Base on the outskirts of Grand Forks ND. On weekends, visitors are not allowed entry, but we toured the display of aircraft in the garden at the main gate. A rare treat to get up close to some of these famous aircraft.

On Monday morning I went for coffee as usual (second day running!) at the camp office. We mostly reminisced about the good old days, when mom cooked food on the wood-fired stove, and gas cost 10 cents per gallon. One of the attendees had been a pilot in the U.S. Air Force in the 1960's and was stationed in Germany. He remembered flying north back then to the Aalborg AFB in Denmark and the friendly city ...
